17th century in origin, a former farm in need of some renovation

In the centre of a tiny village, this house with its long covered external balcony is a fine example of local architecture, and its many original features confirm our first impression that it is a venerable old building.. Perhaps the oldest part is to be found in the barn, which contains a stone spiral staircase and some very old stone doorways. The main house, which is reached via the raised external balcony, which seems to have been remodelled at a later epoch but has kept high ceilings, consists of a living room and two bedrooms, while kitchen and bathroom are at either end of the balcony. At ground level the original kitchen with its stone fireplace takes us back to the origins of the house, and there are also two cellars. As for the barn, which may well have been the original living area, the spiral staircase leads up to a hayloft but its fine carved fireplace indicates clearly its former use, and the stable next to it has ancient doorways and by way of a window an arrow-slit. So this old property is full of surprises, and a future renovation could well double or triple the living area. It stands at one end of its large garden and a meadow which enjoys a prettyview over the countryside.
